Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 345

Outside the police station, the gloomy sky hung low.

A black SUV pulled up to the curb.

When the door opened, Janina felt a surreal sense of relief. It was her brother and sister.

Natalie rushed out of the car and threw her arms around her, her eyes red. “Nina, we were so worried!”

Then she noticed the cuts on Janina’s wrists, and her voice rose in alarm. “What happened? Who did this?”

West placed a hand on his sister’s shoulder. He looked exhausted, but the tension in his face eased visibly when he saw Janina was safe.

“Let’s get in the car first,” he said, his voice hoarse.

Janina was about to speak when a taxi screeched to a halt behind them.

The doors flew open, and three figures scrambled out, running toward her.

Melody Leigh stumbled in her high heels, a few strands of hair stuck to her face. She looked nothing like the glamorous celebrity she was. She pulled Janina into a tight hug. “Do you have any idea how much security footage I went through last night?”

Wendy Clifford rushed in for a hug too, checking her over for other injuries. Her voice broke. “You scared us to death!” she choked out, wiping away a tear with the back of her hand.

“You’re a grown woman, and you still make us worry like this! I seriously thought you were gone!” Maggie’s voice was thick with emotion. Only she knew how frantic she had been.

Their bond was something special, deeper than family or friendship.

“What happened to you? We were losing our minds!”

Wendy Clifford thought for a moment. “Finch is a great hacker. We can get him to look into Yvonne’s computer and phone. He might find something.”

Natalie added, “And what if you can’t find any proof that she hired someone?”

“Hah. If the law won’t punish her, then I’ll deal with her my way,” Maggie said, cracking her knuckles.

Everyone knew exactly what she meant.

“When I get back to Clayborne City, I’m going to find her,” Janina said, her eyes darkening. That woman thought she could get away with anything. In a civilized society, she actually tried to have someone murdered.

Looking at her family and best friends around her, Janina felt a surge of warmth. She touched her bandaged wrist. It still hurt, but the warmth in her chest was stronger.

“We can’t let her get away with this,” Natalie said, “but we have to do it legally. We have to make her pay for what she’s done through the proper channels.” She couldn’t just let them go and kill Yvonne.
