Dylan was confused. He was all prepped, his knife sharpened and ready to go, but now the boss was telling him to wait.
"Why? Let's just get this done so we can get our money and get out of here," he pressed.
John glanced at his phone, his brow furrowed.
"We're waiting for someone. But with this damned weather... I don't know if he can make it tonight. If not, we'll have to wait until tomorrow."
Dylan's internal alarm bells went off.
Another accomplice?
No way. One more person meant a smaller cut of the money.
Assuming his boss didn't trust his abilities, he quickly protested, "Boss, I can handle this myself. You don't need to call for backup. If you don't believe me, you can watch. I guarantee I'll get the job done."
John saw right through him.
He clapped a hand on Dylan's shoulder.
"It's what the buyer wants," he explained.
"Don't worry, you'll get your full share. This guy is just coming to get something from her. After he's done, we'll take care of the rest."
As he spoke, his gaze drifted over to Janina.
Dylan was sharp enough to understand.
Some things were better left unknown. If the boss didn't elaborate, he wouldn't ask.
Their conversation drifted into Janina's ears.
A third person was coming to take something from her.
What could it be?
Money?
Impossible.
They were clearly here to kill her.
A chilling realization washed over her, and she suddenly understood.
There was only one possibility: her organs.
It had to be Yvonne.
