Ana then found out she had burned two of her dishes! She looked aghast.
The crowd quickly averted their gaze. Some looked awkward, while others wore a scornful expression.
Maria was the one with the scornful expression.
George secretly smirked as he thought to himself, "She never knew how to cook anyway, but she insisted! What a waste of food! It would have been better if Demi had been the one cooking!"
Wendy inwardly sighed as she reminded Ana, "Ana, turn off the stove now."
When she heard that, Ana quickly came to her senses and turned off the stove quickly. After that, she looked discouraged and mournful.
Thomas comforted his sister, saying, "It's fine. It's just a little burned. It's still edible."
George remarked coldly to himself, "You can help yourself. We're not eating that."
Ana took a deep breath and decided to move on to the third dish. She had to redeem herself with the third dish! She had been distracted by Demi earlier. This time, she would keep her focus on the dish, she promised herself quietly.
Finally, all the dishes were ready and everyone carried the dishes to the dining room. The dining room was very spacious and had a few rotating tables. All of the dishes were put on one table.
At the same time, the special guests started arriving as soon as they were informed.
Tyler sniffed around and said with an approving look, "Wow, it smells so good!"
"We are so lucky today," Sally said with a smile.
"Everything looks perfect! Did you order takeout from a five-star restaurant?" Sam joked.
"Everyone, thank you for your hard work," Connor said with a warm smile.
Wendy greeted the special guests with a smile, "Please have a seat."
When they were all seated, they started eating after some small talk.
Ana knew her dishes weren't as good as Demi's, but she was still keen to observe if anyone liked the dishes she made. However, she observed that only the special guests tried her dishes.
Among them, some spit out the food in secret while others swallowed it with some difficulty. After that, no one else touched her dishes.
"Who made this? This is so good." Sally said, pointing to a dish.
"This too, I think it's good." Sam agreed while pointing to another dish.
"This too." Tyler pointed to another dish.
"I think Mrs. Yale made all those dishes," Connor said with a smile.
