Margaret replied, "He's considered cured. He may wake up after sleeping for a day and a night. He may have trouble walking at first, but with care and time, he'll recover."
These were actually Demi's words. However, Margaret didn't want to be too confident, so she added the word "may" twice.
"Really? Mrs. Moone, will he really recover after sleeping for a day and a night?" Catherine and her children asked in unison.
"He supposed to. If he wakes up, then he's cured. If not… we'll think of another way," Margaret responded with a stern look on her face. She was still hesitant to make a promise.
Catherine's initial excitement was gone. But then, she quickly regained her composure.
"Thank you, Mrs. Moone. No matter the outcome, I won't blame you. If Josh really wakes up, I'll bring my entire family to thank you," Catherine cried.
No one knew how much they had suffered in the past few days. They wanted to visit and check on Josh but were afraid of breaking some unspoken rule. Margaret had warned them not to visit after sending him to her place. She explained that she needed to focus on treating Josh.
Catherine immediately informed her children when she received Margaret's call that afternoon. They then waited anxiously until midnight, skipping dinner and trembling in excitement till the scheduled time.
She expected to find out Josh's fate as soon as they arrived. However, it was still uncertain. Still, if Margaret said he might wake up, then there might still be hope!
"We're all neighbors—no need for such formalities. I also hope Josh will recover, " Margaret said sincerely.
She thought that since Demi said she cured him, he should be cured. She hoped that nothing would go wrong.
After taking Josh home, the William family decided to sit vigil by his side, monitoring his condition. They stayed up for a day and a night, just in case anything happened.
…
On the other hand, Demi arrived at Shore City, a coastal city located in the southeast of Cartro. The program crew's SUV picked her up from the airport and sent her to the destination.
Meanwhile, her livestream started.
"I'm here to curse you! You vicious girl! How dare you still show up for the program?"
"You almost killed someone!"
