Ana squatted on the ground, carefully examining each mushroom, while Thomas came over to help her.
Upon seeing his sister's teary eyes, Thomas tried to console her softly. "Don't let her get to you. You know how she is… She's upset, so let her vent a little."
"I'm not angry at her," Ana replied, her voice low yet tinged with grievance and frustration. "But Mrs. Yale and I worked hard to gather these, and she just dismissed them. I can't accept that. I don't mind if she's targeting me. But she's dragging Mrs. Yale into it too!"
"Don't say that. Demi isn't that kind of person," Thomas said, glancing nervously at the camera. "Alright, enough. Let's just focus on sorting the mushrooms."
They were still up on the mountain, where the signal was terrible. Making calls was barely possible, and searching for information online was slow. Text-based resources could occasionally load, but images and videos were out of the equation.
As a result, they had to rely solely on textual descriptions for identification.
In the end, every mushroom seemed to resemble a poisonous variety! Was the entire basket full of poisonous mushrooms?
Ana began to doubt herself.
No, it couldn't be. Demi had barely glanced at the mushrooms before declaring them poisonous. She must have been making it up. There had to be edible mushrooms in the basket.
With renewed determination, Ana studied the mushrooms even more carefully. She was set on finding all the edible ones to prove Demi had been targeting her!
Meanwhile, Demi and Maria had finished washing the vegetables and carried their basin toward Matt.
Matt and a few staff members were stationed behind the newly built stove.
"Mr. Hahn, I've decided to build my own stove and not join the group," Demi announced loudly.
