No one could bear to leave the cubs even after eating. When in their lives would they ever touch a tiger again?
Everyone played with the cubs, chasing them in circles. Laughter rippled through the mountain pines like wind chimes.
A staff member reminded them, "If you keep this up, you'll fail the mission."
The mission was for them to reach their designated location.
"What happens if we fail?" someone asked.
"Next episode's supplies get halved," the staff member reported.
"It doesn't matter if we lose half the share. We'll survive on smaller portions."
"This might be our only chance to cuddle tigers!"
"Relax, with Demi here, we'll never starve."
No one seemed to be concerned.
The staff was stunned in disbelief. Then he asked, "Could I maybe hold the cub, too?"
"Hahaha! No one can resist tiger cubs!"
"No. Ana can."
"I really don't get the Pitts. Would it kill them to treat Demi as their real daughter and sister? And why can't Ana get along with her twin?"
"Let me analyze it for you—Ana used to be the Pitts' only daughter who was spoiled rotten. Then, a twin appeared to share that love. Of course, she'd resent it."
"Ana is just selfish."
