A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 401

"Dad, I've always been very careful and try to please Demi. I've never intentionally made her angry," Thomas immediately replied.

"Why don't you try to make peace with Demi?" Stephen hissed.

"I would if I could, but there's always someone getting in my way," Thomas couldn't help but protest.

Stephen was speechless. "Give the phone to your Daniel!" he snapped.

Thomas handed the phone to Daniel.

"Daniel, you must figure out how to make peace with Demi as soon as possible. The company's stock price has dropped again, and several partners have threatened to end their collaborations with us. I'm in a mess over here. You need to help me. Don't brush this off, and stop letting Ana throw a tantrum! If this continues, Pitt Group will go bankrupt!" Stephen said urgently.

Daniel wanted to say he didn't know how to handle Demi either, but he was afraid to do so. With a resigned sigh, he replied, "Okay. I understand, Dad."

"You'd better watch over Ana and stop letting her cause trouble! I'll deal with her when she gets back," Stephen instructed.

"I got it, Dad," Daniel muttered reluctantly.

It was nearly noon, and the group, weary from the long trek, showed signs of exhaustion.

"Demi, how much longer until we reach the tiger's den?" George asked, glancing at Demi.

"Not long now. Just another 20 minutes," Demi replied, pointing ahead.

"I'm so tired. I can't go any further. Mr. Yale, let's just have lunch here," Ana said, wiping the sweat from her forehead as she spoke. Besides being genuinely exhausted, she also didn't want to let Demi take the spotlight.

"Let's keep going a little longer. Everyone's excited to see the Ttiger's den," Nigel suggested.

"But I really can't go any further," Ana said with anguish.

Since she was little, Ana had always been able to get her way by being charming and acting spoiled with her parents and brothers, so it was second nature for her to play the part in front of adults as well.

"If you can't keep going, then you might as well skip the filming. Don't keep holding everyone back. We still want to see the tiger's den," Thomas interrupted, his expression stern and unyielding.

The words hit her like a bucket of cold water, and not only did Ana stare at him in shock, but the others also looked at him in disbelief.
