A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 382

At the Moone residence, Margaret watched Demi on the tablet as tears streamed down her face. She had just learned how to use the tablet to watch the live broadcast.

She knew that Demi had been abused by her adoptive parents, but she had never heard the full details before. She had no idea Demi had suffered so much. It was no wonder she had been so afraid of people when they first met.

The audience were also curious.

"So Demi didn't look like how she looks now?"

"Could Demi be making up this story just to cover up her desire for plastic surgery?"

"Don't let your dirty thoughts taint Demi's intentions."

"I'm so curious to know what the real Demi looks like."

"She must be prettier than now. Didn't she say she used walnut husk juice to paint her face? She must be fairer in real life."

"I always thought Demi, as a celebrity, had darker skin. Now it makes sense. She was deliberately darkening it."

"If you look at Demi's neck, it's really fair."

"Yeah, I just noticed that. It's glowy."

"Are you still afraid they'll find you and take you back?" George raised an eyebrow. "What are you afraid of? If they dare come, just send them to the police."

"If they dare come, call me. I know some people in law enforcement. I'll help you handle it," Nigel said seriously.

Felix, who usually kept quiet, finally spoke up. "If they come, you can also find me."

"I'm not afraid of them," Demi said as she smiled gratefully at everyone. "I just got used to it. I got used to it, and so did the people around me. If I show my real face, my grandmother and Timothy probably wouldn't recognize me, let alone others."

"No matter what, if anyone tries to make things difficult for you, just let us know," George said with a confident grin.

"Don't put walnut husk juice on your face anymore. You should gradually return to your original look," Wendy suggested.

"Alright, I got it. Let's stop talking about my issues. Let's continue the game," Demi said.

At this, both Daniel and Ana visibly relaxed. Demi had finally stopped talking.

Daniel was fine—being a strong leader, he was used to hiding his emotions. But Ana's relief was obvious, and the guests and viewers in the livestream noticed it immediately.
