The production team had rented out the entire plane, so everyone was free to move around, talk, and relax during the flight.
Maria and Demi chatted mainly about Maria's upcoming album. Right now, the biggest issue was figuring out the arrangement for a few of the tracks.
Wendy, George, Chad, and Connor all jumped in with suggestions.
The instruments in the world of cultivation were similar to traditional ones in Cartro but not quite the same. Demi actually needed to hear the instruments to offer any useful input.
So Maria played a few sample recordings for her.
Soon, Caitlin chimed in, carefully sharing her thoughts.
Then Cody, the singer-slash-actor, joined the conversation, too.
Thomas sat back—watching everyone chatting and collaborating—with envy written all over his face.
If only he had a better relationship with Demi. He could've asked her for an entire album's worth of songs—and he'd go viral for sure, maybe even go global. People would be so jealous of him.
Still, there was no rush. Eventually, Demi would come around. She had tons of songs, and as her family, he figured he could just pick and choose later on.
"Ms. Moone, don't forget you promised me a song, too," Caitlin reminded her softly.
"Oh—sorry, that totally slipped my mind." Demi reached into her bag, pulled out a notebook, and handed it to Caitlin. "I picked out a dozen or so. Take a look and see which one you like."
Caitlin's eyes instantly lit up. She practically snatched the notebook with both hands.
"I'd love to ask for a song too... if that's okay?" Cody asked, his tone light but a little cautious.
"Sure," Demi said after a slight pause, nodding.
She had hundreds of songs saved on one of her chips—sharing a couple didn't bother her.
"Thank you!" Cody beamed. He'd already been a fan of her voice before joining the show. Once he found out she was a guest, he'd secretly hoped he'd get the chance to ask her for a song. He was fully prepared to be turned down.
So the fact that she'd said yes so easily felt almost unreal.
"By the way, Demi, we haven't even talked about payment yet. You come up with a price and let me know—I'll run it by my label," Maria said with a smile.
"Yeah, Demi, set a price already," George added, and the others quickly joined in.
"No need to pay me." Demi waved them off. "Just sing the songs."
"No way. Business is business, even between friends," Maria insisted.
"Then... pay me whatever you want," Demi shrugged.
"I say we go with the highest offer in the industry," George said, like it was a done deal.
"Highest rate it is."
