George moved closer to Demi and asked, "So, you're feeling brave because you know martial arts, huh?"
"I guess you can say that." Demi nodded.
"What do you mean? Was I wrong?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"The real reason is because I know how to land safely since I know martial arts. That's why I'm feeling brave. It's not because I'm not afraid of death!"
Ana glanced at Demi and the others. She didn't know when it started, but whenever Demi was talking, everyone else would listen to her. Meanwhile, no one would even care about Ana or Thomas at all.
"Demi, you've never gone skydiving before, so you probably don't know how scary it can be. When you look down later, you'll start to feel the fear. Also, knowing martial arts isn't going to help you much when you skydive," Alexander said with a smile.
Hearing that, Demi just smiled and said nothing.
"But there's no need to be scared, guys. We're skydiving over the ocean, so it'll be a soft landing. That makes it much safer than skydiving somewhere else," Alexander said, trying to reassure everyone.
"We're not afraid at all." The crowd shook their heads.
"That's great." Alexander nodded.
Then, he started teaching everyone the basics of skydiving, and Demi listened seriously to everything he said. When he was done explaining, he asked everyone a question each to make sure they really understood what he had said.
Suddenly, a staff member said, "We'll be arriving soon."
Hearing that, Ana immediately raised her hand and looked at everyone with a smile. "I'll be jumping alone later. Will someone like to join me?"
Thomas showed his support by raising his hand as well. As for the others, they just exchanged glances with each other and didn't raise their hands at all. Maria even turned to George and Chad, waving her hand at them to make sure they wouldn't raise their hands.
There was a simple reason for that. Maria was worried that Demi would raise her hand as well out of dignity if everyone else raised their hands. Since it was Demi's first time skydiving, Maria was worried that something might go wrong.
Worried that Demi might raise her hand too, Maria held Demi's wrist.
"What? I thought everyone wanted to jump by themselves," Alexander said curiously.
"That doesn't count," George said solemnly.
"Well, is everyone being more careful after hearing my explanation?" Alexander smiled.
"Yeah." George and the others nodded.
Ana was speechless. She and Thomas put their hands down embarrassedly.
The comment section exploded.
"Let me guess… Everyone's worried about Demi raising her hand."
"I saw Maria holding Demi's wrist just now."
"Demi probably didn't raise her hand because she doesn't want to bother herself with Ana. It wasn't about Maria at all."
"Everyone sure pampers Demi a lot."
"But Demi pampers everyone as well."
"If she really wants the best for everyone else, she should've taught them her skills instead of showing them off!"
