"I'm a doctor," Demi said with a smile as she inserted the needles.
At that moment, Felix's mind was in a mess. So, it took Felix a few seconds to realize what she meant. She was telling him there was no need to be embarrassed because she was a doctor. Realizing that, he had a feeling that a young lady had just teased him.
Felix couldn't help looking toward her. If she were only an ordinary young lady, she would've gotten shy upon seeing a man's naked chest, right? This was also especially true since they were both single in a confined space.
However, he noticed she was remarkably calm. He wondered if it was because she had treated a lot of patients and gotten used to it.
…
The needling therapy session was still as long as ever, and Felix's stomach was covered in needles. After a short while, he slowly started feeling tired like last time.
"Why do I feel so sleepy every time you give me needling therapy?" he asked Demi while trying to keep himself awake.
"That's because I insert the good stuff into your body every time we do this. Then, when all the bad stuff comes out, you feel more comfortable and sleepy," she explained.
"I see…" He nodded, finally understanding what was going on.
"Of course, it might also mean you're just sleep-deprived," she added.
Felix was speechless. After she had given him needling therapy last time, his sleep quality improved a lot. However, after enjoying the bliss of sleeping until the afternoon for a few days, he started waking up earlier again.
It was like he had gone back to his army days. Because of that, he got a lot less sleep than the average person.
"Go ahead and sleep if you're tired. I told you to shower just now because I wanted you to sleep during the needling therapy session," said Demi.
"Regardless, it still feels insulting. I'm sorry for this," he said.
"It's fine. I'm a doctor," she answered casually.
Sometimes, Felix had a feeling that Demi wasn't acting like a young lady at all. Considering how calm she was most of the time, it felt more like she was an older woman in her 60s. Was it because she was studying medicine?
As the questions filled Felix's dazed mind, he slowly fell asleep.
