As someone who grew up in the countryside, Demi immediately recognized the sound. It was a tractor, or perhaps a "four-wheeler", as locals often called it.
On rough, uneven roads like this, ordinary cars wouldn't make it far, but a tractor was perfectly suited for the task.
Everyone froze when a puffing, smoke-spewing black iron contraption rumbled to a stop in front of the group.
"Huh?"
"Can we even sit in this?"
"I'd rather ride a donkey or a horse!"
"A camel would be better than this!"
Complaints started flying.
"Not satisfied, are we? Fine. We'll cancel this benefit," Matt said with a warning tone.
"We're satisfied!"
The group quickly changed their minds. After all, anything was better than walking.
Nigel helped Wendy onto the vehicle first, followed by Thomas assisting Ana. When it was Maria and Demi's turn, Chad and George stepped forward, playing the part of gentlemen.
Demi could have easily climbed on herself, but she didn't see the need to show off in front of everyone.
Thomas had hesitated for a moment, seemingly intending to help Demi. However, Chad beat him to it.
Joining the four female guests on the tractor were Matt, the cameraman, and several crew members, filling the vehicle to capacity.
The tractor roared to life and began to move, leaving behind the male guests standing on the roadside.
Maria leaned against Demi's shoulder, as they held onto the edge of the tractor's trailer as it jolted along the uneven road.
The wind swept through, scattering Maria's wavy hair across her face, making her squint. Frustrated, she kept pushing her hair back, trying to tame it.
"Demi, how did you open that wine bottle earlier? Is there a trick to it?" Maria asked curiously.
