A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 117

They had pictured this moment countless times, but when Josh woke up, they still couldn't believe it.

Michael was the first to react. He looked at Josh, overjoyed. "Dad, you're awake!"

"What's going on? I feel like I've been asleep for ages," the latter replied hoarsely.

"Dad, you were unconscious for a long time," Silvia said with tears in her eyes.

Catherine, still in shock, finally snapped out of her daze. She gripped Josh's hand and sobbed, "Josh, you woke up! Is this a dream?"

While she spoke, she pinched herself.

"It hurts. I'm not dreaming!" She burst into laughter.

"Catherine, why are you crying and laughing like a crazy person?" Josh rasped.

"You slept for a long time, Josh. I was worried sick for you." As Catherine wept, a smile appeared on her face and she gently smacked his chest.

"How are you feeling, Dad? Have some water—your voice sounds hoarse." Meanwhile, Silvia passed him a cup of water.

Catherine and Michael hurriedly helped Josh up and placed two pillows behind his back.

After that, Michael told his father what happened previously.

"Did Mrs. Moone cure my sickness?" the latter looked at him in shock.

"Yes," the three of them confirmed in unison.

Upon hearing that, Josh fell silent, stunned.

He thought Margaret was just an illiterate old lady who lived a hard life. How had she learned to heal people?

Catherine looked out the window. "It's late now. I'll thank Margaret tomorrow."

She turned to her children and added, "You'll have to thank Mrs. Moone properly."

"Alright."

"Of course!"

Both Silvia and Michael nodded.

"Should we pay her?" Michael asked.

"I think we should," Silvia agreed with a nod.

Catherine frowned. "I want to do that too, but I'm afraid she won't accept it."
