“The hell do you think you’re doing?!” grumbled Xavia as she glared daggers at him.
Staring back at the resistant girl, Zivon simply replied in a stern tone, “Is Keith or your hand more important now? Focus on having your wounds treated.”
Following that, he tossed Zayne’s phone back to the speechless doctor. What on earth? Wasn’t Xavia being a bit too cold toward Zivon? Also, Zivon… was that jealousy he sensed?
Though these questions lingered in Zayne’s mind, he kept his thoughts to himself as he began treating Xavia’s wounds, hoping that this would lessen his presence…
Whatever the case was, Xavia spent the next half-hour clenching her teeth, sweating, and occasionally tearing up. Despite being given anesthesia, she was still very much distressed…
During her time in prison, she remembered telling herself that she’d be good to herself if she ever got the opportunity to leave. Her current situation was proof that she had failed. It didn’t help that since her hand was now injured, she wouldn’t be able to cook for Keith, which meant that she couldn’t continue repaying him for saving her life for a while… What else could she do in the meantime…?
Her train of thought was cut short when she heard Zayne say, “Alright, it’s done. Listen closely, now. You’re not to touch any water or strain that injured hand of yours in the coming few days. Aside from that, you’ll need to return in two days to change the medicine on your wound.”
“…Got it. Thank you,” replied Xavia as she got up and began walking out…
Following her, Zivon then said, “I’ll send you back.”
“There’s no need for that,” replied Xavia as she left without even looking back. Her attitude was even colder compared to someone who had their entire family assassinated by him…
Regardless, once Xavia was gone, Zayne couldn’t help but ask, “…What’s wrong with her, Zivon? She never treated you this coldly in the past, right…? Could it be that she’s being this cold toward you since she’s completely fallen for Keith’s tenderness and warmth…?”
Upon sensing a spike in Zivon’s frigid aura—and realizing how terribly he had phrased his sentence—, Zayne quickly gulped before adding, “I-I didn’t mean it that way… What I meant was that while it’s true that Keith is gentlemanly and knows how to please girls, he’ll never be as good as you… I-in other words, how could she not see who the better man is?”
“That aside… There really isn’t much of a point for you to be so upset over her… After all, Sister-in-law is way better. If you haven’t already heard, Sister-in-law has just won the Oscar for Best Director today, and she’s now the youngest domestic female director to win this award. Aside from that, she’s also announced that the construction of the largest film and television city in Darlsbury is already in the planning…”
“She’s such a powerful and capable woman… She’s extremely beautiful to boot. With that said, aren’t you at least going to prepare a gift to celebrate her achievements…?” asked Zayne.
