Closing the backseat door behind him, Zivon then returned to the front seat. After making sure to lock all the car’s doors, he picked the call up… only to be greeted by Chace’s voice grumbling, “What on earth are you doing, Zivon? The traffic bureau just talked about some woman leaping out of a car earlier! Had I not had business here and recognized your car, the video of that incident would’ve made it online now!”
Understanding that Chace was concerned about him, Zivon then replied, “I’d appreciate it if you helped me delete the video and keep their mouths shut. We’ll talk more about this later.”
As Zivon hung up, Xavia—who had heard the contents of the call—shrank her head like a cowardly tortoise. She wondered why she always broke down emotionally before Zivon. After all, she hated him seeing her like this…
Whatever the case was, Zivon then drove them to the hospital that Zayne was working in. Once they arrived, he turned to look at the aggrieved woman before saying, “Get out and have your injury looked at. You wouldn’t want the children to see it, would you? That’d set a bad example for them.”
…So he had only brought her here since he didn’t want her to affect the children? The thought of it made Xavia feel dead inside. Regardless, she eventually pushed the car door open before replying, “There’s no need to accompany me. I’ll deal with the rest so you won’t be troubled anymore.”
Following that, Xavia began making her way toward the elevator inside. Zivon himself didn’t chase after her. Instead, he simply lit a cigarette before giving Zayne a call…
After the short call ended, Zivon took a long puff of the cigarette, causing smoke to fill the air… It made the man look even more dangerous, especially since he now had a profound look in his eyes…
Moving back to Xavia, she found herself bumping into Zayne the second she exited the elevator.
“Zivon just called me to have a look at your wound, Miss Lockhart. Do follow me and tell me where you got injured…,” said Zayne.
…He had arranged for Zayne to have a look at her injuries? She didn’t need his pretentious pity! Following that thought, Xavia then replied, “Thank you, but you can deal with other things, Young Master Xenos. I’ll just look for another doctor.”
“Now hold on, Miss Lockhart, don’t shoot the messenger. I did nothing to offend you, and I’m merely treating you like any other patient,” said Zayne as he pulled Xavia into his office before she could reply.
Zayne, for one, didn’t dare to mess up after receiving Zivon’s instructions. That aside, Zayne’s eyes momentarily widened in shock when he saw the wound on Xavia’s hand.
