Regardless, not wanting Yulia to hear things that she shouldn’t, Xavia was prompted to seat her child in the back seat before saying, “Take a short nap, alright…?”

Though Yulia loved to eat and play, she loved sleeping as well. Knowing that the car ride was going to be comfy, Yulia enthusiastically replied, “Alright!”

Following that, Yulia hugged one of her toys and closed her eyes. By the time the car started moving, she was already fast asleep… Seeing that, Xavia took the chance to ask, “So… What is it?”

Glaring at Xavia through the rear-view mirror, Jenna then scoffed, “Have you forgotten what you said to me? That you’d leave Darlsbury with Yulia the second you got out of prison? What happened to that promise, hmm?”

This, of course, left Xavia momentarily startled. Though she knew for a fact that Jenna was mocking her for failing to hold her end of the deal, she couldn’t just leave. After all, although she would love to live a peaceful and quiet life away from Darlsbury…

“…I can’t leave just yet… You see, Young Master Keith freed me from prison on the condition that I dated him for half a year… I really don’t wish to owe him anything… That aside, you can still rest assured. After all, since I’m Young Master Keith’s girlfriend now, there’s no way I could possibly be with Young Master Burton-”

“Enough! How many times have you promised not to get involved with Zivon again, hmm? Even if you aren’t tired of it, I am!” retorted Jenna as she slammed on the brakes, causing the car to stop at the side of the road.

Following that, she continued glaring at Xavia from the mirror while growling, “That aside, do you really think you’re worthy enough to date Keith? Also, have you even thought of the consequences of hanging around the Burton family’s old mansion day in and day out? Do you really want to lose your daughter that badly?”

“Trust me when I say that even if the previous incident came to light, once the fact that you’re the child’s biological mother is exposed, the Burtons will never accept you! They’ll simply cover the truth up, take Yulia away, and potentially charge you with the crime of child kidnapping! Do you really want such a future?” added Jenna, her stern tone expertly striking all of Xavia’s weak spots.

True enough, Xavia had promised several times to not get involved with Zivon. However, though she had been sincere every time she made a promise, there were simply too many unavoidable factors that resulted in her getting involved with Zivon again… That aside, the Burtons would never allow anyone to discredit their reputation, so she’d surely be doomed before them…
