Zivon had just finished preparing an amazing lunch when his expression changed upon hearing the news. He then raised his eyes to look at Nathan.
“What hope?”
Nathan said, “Your teacher said there is a study being conducted that’s related to your legs that could be beneficiary for your current situation. He wants you to go over and participate. As you know, the professor has retired for several years and seldom returns to the field, so he should be sure of the situation.”
Zivon’s gaze grew dark.
He seldom contacted his teacher, and only ordered gifts for him over the past few years. He didn’t expect his teacher to worry about his legs.
For the sake of their relationship and science, he should go over.
“Tell my teacher I will visit him personally.”
“Alright, Young Master Burton.”
Zivon sent the meal into the room.
Xavia was laying in bed while playing Checkers with Maison and Yulia. Frank and Fabiola were sleeping in their cribs in a sound and quiet manner.
Rays of the midday sun sprinkled through the window like a warm and beautiful painting under a skilled painter’s brush.
Zivon could not bear to shatter this moment, so he chose to stop at the door to quietly appreciate the scenery.
It was until Xavia noticed him. “Von, what are you doing there? Come and play with us.”
“Sure.” Zivon collected his thoughts and moved his wheelchair over.
Checkers are played with one piece per person. The first person to the end of the line wins by throwing the dice.
Any three-year-old could play this game easily. Yet, Zivon had never played such a childish game since childhood. As soon as he played, he found out that life could be so simple, and happiness could be so easy.
He couldn’t help but enjoy the moment.
“Daddy, you’re so lucky. You keep getting the largest number while sister and I always get the smallest number.”
“Daddy, are you cheating?”
“Daddy, why can’t you let your precious babies win?”
