“He’s right, Young Master Burton! Though it’s fine to worry about her, how will the children fare if you fall ill…?!”
He knew that he should take better care of himself, yet… In the end, he simply grabbed Nathan by the collar before roaring, “Why do you think I’m doing this…?! If you people were more competent, I wouldn’t have to do everything myself! What the hell do I even pay you for?!”
Though Zivon’s aura was frightening, Nathan felt that Zivon was more pitiful than anything. After all, just how devastated did that almighty man need to be to be reduced to such a state…?
Not wanting Zivon to suffer any further, Nathan lowered his head before replying, “…I apologize for our uselessness! If it helps, please take out your anger on me so that you can relax a bit, Young Master Burton!”
Getting even angrier when he heard that, Zivon let go of Nathan before punching him straight in the cheek as he yelled, “What good is punishing you?! Be more productive by conducting a city-wide census! Leave no stone unturned and even if she isn’t in Darlsbury, look throughout the country! Remember to include those living in cut-off villages!”
Upon hearing that, Nathan’s eyes widened as he replied, “…That’s right…! The cut-off villages…! As long as we can get information on the headcounts there, then there’s a good chance that we’ll be able to find her…! Well thought out, Young Master Burton! I-I’ll initiate the process immediately!”
With that said, Nathan bolted off, not even wincing from how hurt his cheek was.
