The private investigator worked fast. Dorothea hadn’t expected to get so many clear photos in just two days. There were shots from hotels, villas, even the company rooftop and Walton’s own office.
How did Walton have the nerve to cheat with his lover when his wife was so close by? Lea, her aunt by marriage, worked right there in the finance office. All that separated her and Walton was a hallway.
Dorothea wasn’t about to send these photos to Lea under her real name. She barely knew the Carter family and, honestly, if it wasn’t for getting her father’s hotel back, she’d never bother with Walton or Lea at all.
So she mailed the photos to Lea anonymously.
Lea thought it was just work documents when she opened the envelope in front of her coworkers. The moment she saw the photos, her whole expression changed. She stared, unable to believe what she was seeing.
“Lea, are you alright? Who sent you that? It looks like photos.”
Lea quickly flipped the pictures over and shoved them back in the envelope. She steadied herself, forced a little smile, and said, “Oh, it’s just an autograph from a celebrity for my daughter. I didn’t expect it to show up at the office. Anyway, let’s all get back to work. Cindy, please set up afternoon tea for today.” Her tone was calm and collected.
Lea was generous with her team, and a lot of employees liked her as the deputy director. Still, everyone knew she was married to Walton, and that made things awkward for the Finance Director. With Walton above and Lea right there in the department, the Finance Director always felt watched and restricted. No wonder they were secretly hoping for Lea and Walton to fall out.
Back in her own office, Lea’s first thought was that the Finance Director had sent her the photos. She spread them out on her desk again. The girl in the pictures was young and pretty, her skin glowing with youth—something Lea knew she could never get back.
She’d suspected Walton might cheat someday, but she never imagined he’d be so bold as to do it right under her nose.
Lea made a call, then locked the photos away in her office safe.

Dorothea had asked every team to hand in their fourth-quarter plans, but as the deadline came and went, Fidelia’s team still hadn’t turned anything in. Dorothea called her out in the group chat and tagged Lenard too.
