The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 281

Now, Danielle was finally free—no longer tied to Alexander in any way.

The whole divorce process had taken less than ten minutes.

Yet the marriage itself had felt endless, costing Danielle dearly along the way.

At least, it was over now—her disastrous marriage had finally reached its conclusion.

Alexander noticed the rare hint of a smile on her face, then calmly looked away.

They stepped out of city hall.

His Cayenne was still parked steadily by the curb.

Alexander paused, turned to Danielle, and asked, "Need a ride?"

"No, thanks."

Her voice was flat, void of any emotion.

She had no intention of accepting a ride from her ex-husband.

Alexander never insisted, nor did he try to persuade her otherwise. He simply nodded, then strode off toward his Bentley.

Nash hurried over to open the door for him.

As the door swung open, Danielle caught a glimpse, out of the corner of her eye, of a woman sitting inside.

She didn’t need to look twice to know who it was.

Even on divorce day, he’d brought Millie along.

Danielle couldn’t help but think: if it weren’t for the need to pick an auspicious date for a wedding, they’d probably be getting their marriage certificate today, right after their divorce.

She flagged down a cab and left.

Settling into the back seat, Danielle glanced down at the divorce papers in her hand.

They were light as air, yet their weight felt immense.

She let out a long breath, a genuine smile tugging at her lips as the breeze from the open window swept across her face, refreshing her spirit.

Never before had the air in Northridge City felt this wonderful.

With the summer wind at her back, she was ready to embrace her new life.

Her mood had lightened by the time she arrived at Ninesky Technologies.

Gian and Kirsten were already waiting for her at the office.
