The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 188

He didn't hesitate as he looked at Danielle, but simply signed his name without a second thought.

In that moment, something in his mind crumbled.

But just as quickly, he reassured himself—this was nothing more than a temporary tactic, her way of playing hard to get.

After all, it wasn't as if they were actually standing in front of a judge at city hall, divorce papers in hand.

A short, cold laugh escaped his lips, but he said nothing.

He was curious—when that day finally came, would she really be so resolute?

Quentin waited for Danielle to finish signing, then handed her another copy. "There are two originals."

Danielle signed the second without pause, then stood up. She looked Alexander straight in the eye. "Tomorrow morning at ten—see you at city hall."

Her gaze was icy, and her voice was colder still.

There was nothing left between them. No love, no warmth.

With those words, she turned and walked out, not looking back.

Liam watched her go, his brow furrowing. "Well, she didn't waste any time today."

Quentin capped his pen, rose to his feet, and glanced at Liam. "Miss Crawford seems very determined to end this marriage."

He turned to Alexander. "Mr. Davidson, if there's anything else, I'll be in touch."

Alexander gave a slight nod.

After signing the papers, Danielle made her way back to the hospital room.

Niki's condition was slowly improving.

Danielle settled herself at the bedside and gently smoothed the wisps of hair from her daughter's forehead.

"Mommy…"

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"That man just now… he said you and Daddy are getting a divorce…?"

Niki was still too young to really understand what divorce meant.

But it didn't sound like a good thing.

"What's a divorce?"
