The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 289

At the far end of the restaurant, they spotted Millie and Alexander sitting together, flanked by two or three engineers from the Ninesky R&D Division.

What were Ninesky’s own specialists doing here with Millie and Alexander? The answer was obvious: Alexander was poaching talent for Millie.

AetherX Dynamics had only just opened its doors; they were hungry for skilled people. Millie had just been forced to pay out a massive settlement, and now Alexander was trying to lure Ninesky’s best away.

“So this is payback for us setting that trap for Millie, making his precious darling cough up millions?” Kirsten muttered, her face frosty.

Danielle frowned—it was a development she hadn’t anticipated at all.

Gian watched, his eyes narrowing. This was getting interesting.

Kirsten gritted her teeth. “Unbelievable. The man’s got a broken arm and still finds the strength to steal our people. Maybe he should’ve knocked some sense out of his head while he was at it.” She seethed with anger. “Absolutely shameless.”

She didn’t hesitate; she marched straight toward their table.

Millie met Kirsten’s glare with a lifted brow, looking amused. Alexander looked up as well, his expression calm and unbothered. The Ninesky engineers, on the other hand, froze the moment they saw Kirsten.

Her voice was cold and unyielding. “If you’re quitting, just say so. I’ll approve your resignation right now.”

She cast a cutting look at Millie and Alexander. “Mr. Davidson, Ms. Fletcher—isn’t this a little beneath you? Whatever happened to professional ethics?”

The engineers shifted awkwardly in their seats. Running into their bosses here hadn’t been part of the plan. They’d hoped for a clean break, but now the gloves were off.

Danielle and Gian stepped up behind Kirsten, their faces calm, betraying nothing.

All of Ninesky’s top brass was now present.

Millie crossed her arms, offering a faint smile. “What’s so unethical about colleagues sharing a friendly meal?”

Please. The nerve of this woman.

Kirsten found it nauseating just speaking to her.
