The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 146

He had no idea when he'd shown up.

Danielle averted her gaze, making it clear she had no intention of acknowledging him.

"So you're filling the child's head with these ideas now?"

Danielle stopped dead in her tracks. Of all people, how did he have the nerve to ask her that?

She turned back, eyes icy. "It's simply the truth."

With that, she took Niki's hand and walked away.

Her grandmother's belongings hadn't been sold—so how had they ended up with Mr. Clarke? She had no way of getting them back right now, but that didn't mean she wouldn't find a way in the future.

"Seriously, what took you so long in the bathroom?" Liam strode over, glancing at Alexander.

Following Alexander's gaze, he saw Danielle's retreating figure.

"What, did she come back to pester you again? She really has no shame."

Liam scowled, exasperated.

She just wouldn't leave them alone.

"Honestly, compared to her, Millie is a saint."

Millie had always been easygoing and self-assured, never fighting or scheming. With her confidence and competence, she fit in wherever she went and could charm a room with no effort at all.

The kind of woman you could proudly bring anywhere.

Not like Danielle, who always seemed to be mixed up with all sorts of trouble, all tricks and no substance, forever scheming.

Seeing that things weren't working out with Alex, she was now hanging around at Ninesky, cozying up to Gian.

When Kirsten heard what had happened at the art exhibition that day, she nearly exploded.

"Do those two have you tagged with GPS or something? Why do you keep running into them?"

Danielle set her phone aside, eyes fixed on the data on her computer screen. Her voice was calm. "There aren't that many upscale places in Northridge. Inevitable, really."

And working in the same field, running into each other was just part of the deal.

"They're unbelievable—pretending to be just friends, acting like a couple behind everyone's back. What a pair!" Kirsten was so worked up her head hurt.

You could call Millie the other woman, but honestly, she'd been Alexander's childhood friend forever.

There was hardly any real reason to blame her.

But Danielle hadn't called to vent about today's drama.

She got to the point. "I just sent you an email. Print out a few copies when you get to the office in the morning and let the tech department know—there's a meeting at 10 a.m."

Kirsten logged into her inbox, skimmed the email, and blurted, "Are you kidding?"
