She's mine. Anyone else can just give up now.
Charlotte sat in Anthony’s lap, her cheeks tinted with a soft pink as she scrolled through the news. Every headline seemed to talk about her and Emily’s friendship, and that photo of her pinching Emily’s cheek was everywhere.
So this was why Anthony pulled that little stunt. He was jealous. He took a picture with her just to make it clear she was his.
But Anthony didn’t stop there. He made sure every photo of her and Emily got taken down. Sure enough, in less than five minutes, the internet went silent.
“Don’t get that close to anyone else from now on,” Anthony said, gently tucking her hair behind her ear. His warm fingers lingered on her cheek.
“She’s your sister,” Charlotte pointed out, giving him a look.
“I don’t care,” Anthony shot back without hesitation.
“Oh.” Charlotte blinked, caught off guard. Then her lips curled into a small smile. She leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his chin, her voice barely above a whisper.
That little kiss seemed to do the trick. Anthony’s mood brightened right away. He squeezed her hand, his tone warm. “Everything’s settled. Let’s head back.”
“Okay.” Charlotte nodded and let him lead her toward the back exit.
As they turned a corner, they spotted Kenneth and Emily talking together. With the warm lights shining down on them, the two looked like a scene from a movie.
“So, how are you planning to thank me?” Kenneth asked. His arm rested easily over Emily’s shoulder, his tall frame leaning in just a bit. There was a teasing curve to his lips.
