The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 427

Vivica considered his words for a moment. He had a point.

It was true. The substantial monthly allowance he gave her was more than enough to cover the mortgage and her daily expenses. The real problem was that she hadn’t yet fully resolved to cut ties with her family, and that was what had dragged her down and made life so difficult.

But even with this understanding, she would never go back. She was in love with Joseph. She wouldn’t trade Joseph for anything in the world.

Looking at Fletcher’s resentful eyes, Vivica didn't argue. She simply smiled and said, “You’re not wrong, but it doesn’t change anything. I’ve moved on. You should, too. Why are you still stuck in the same place, holding on to old grudges?”

With that, Vivica turned and pushed open the door to the hospital room.

“Chaim, look who’s here,” she called out gently to her son.

Inside the room, both Sheridan and Melanie were present. They smiled when they saw their daughter-in-law, but their expressions shifted slightly at the sight of Fletcher.

Fletcher walked in, looking somewhat uncomfortable.

His eyes met Sheridan's and Melanie's, and he gave a polite nod as a form of greeting.

After all, when his own father was on his deathbed, it was Sheridan and Melanie who had brought Chaim to the hospital, allowing the boy into the ICU to be with his grandfather in his final moments.

He might hate Joseph, but he felt a sliver of gratitude toward Sheridan and Melanie.

“Chaim, Daddy’s here to see you,” Fletcher said with a smile as he approached the bed, holding up a gift-wrapped toy.

“Look, Daddy brought you a present,” he added, holding the gift aloft, hoping to win his son over.

But Chaim’s response was something no one could have anticipated.
