The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 432

“How badly are you hurt?”

That was the most important question.

“I… I’m okay. Besides being dizzy and scared, I don’t think I’m hurt.”

Just as she finished speaking, a police officer’s voice cut in loudly, “The ambulance is here. You need to get to a hospital for a check-up.”

Joseph heard the officer’s voice, and his heart, which had just begun to settle, shot back up into his throat. “Where are you hurt? Is it serious? Are you bleeding?”

Before Vivica could answer, the paramedics rushed over, helped her onto a stretcher, and quickly loaded her into the ambulance. Since she had no family with her, one of the police officers hopped into the ambulance to accompany her.

“Joseph, I’m okay… Don’t panic, and don’t rush back. You finish your work first. I’ll let you know what the doctors say after my check-up,” Vivica urged, sensing that he was about to drop everything and race back.

But how could Joseph possibly focus on work now?

“The ambulance will probably take you to Pivot Hospital. I’ll call Harvey right away. Don’t you worry.”

“I’m not worried, so you shouldn’t be either…”

After trying to reassure each other, they ended the call.

As the paramedics checked her vitals, Vivica forced herself to relax. The memory of the crash was still terrifyingly fresh. For a split second, she had felt like she was face-to-face with death, close enough to feel the cold chill of the abyss.

“It’s a miracle you’re conscious after a crash like that. Try to focus on the fact that you’re here and you’re breathing.” the officer said, trying to take her mind off the shock and keep her calm.

Vivica swallowed hard and looked at him. “Officer, in this accident, the other driver is completely at fault, right?”

Being cautious, the officer replied, “Based on our initial assessment, the accident was caused by the other driver running a red light, so yes, they should be entirely at fault. However, the final determination of liability will be made after a full investigation.”

“Okay…”

“The driver who ran the light is in much worse shape than you are,” the officer added. “After hitting you, his car crashed into a utility pole. The front of his car is completely destroyed, and he’s in shock.”

Vivica frowned at the news. She couldn’t understand how someone could be so reckless while driving in broad daylight. It was like they had a death wish.

She said nothing more. Right now, she had no capacity for sympathy—after all, she had nearly lost her own life. Not only could she not feel sorry for him, she was determined to hold him accountable and make sure he learned a harsh lesson.
