Chapter 600 When the Time’s Right
Jeremy didn’t want Amelia stressing over some mysterious stranger. He just wanted her to think things through before acting.
But right now, he wanted her attention on him. “Stop thinking so much. Let’s sleep.”
He pulled her into his arms and lay down.
“Are you done with work?” Amelia asked.
“Yeah. Work never really ends, so ‘good enough’ will do.”
At his level, the work literally never ends.
He just handled whatever was urgent and left the rest for later.
Otherwise, he’d probably work himself bald and still wouldn’t win her over.
“Fair point.” Amelia agreed.
She was the same. If she really got into work mode, she could work nonstop all year and still not finish everything.
They lay down. She’d barely closed her eyes for a minute when someone got restless.
His hands started wandering, and the room suddenly felt a few degrees warmer.
“Stop moving,” she whispered.
“I’m not dead. It’s hard not to move,” Jeremy said confidently.
“And as a guy, I’m definitely not supposed to be the one staying still.”
Amelia was speechless.
Great!
There he goes again, dropping suggestive comments out of nowhere.
“If you keep moving, you’re the one who’s gonna suffer later,” she warned. He’d just end up taking another cold shower.
Why put himself through that?
“No. Things are different now. Your cold is completely gone.”

It had been over a month since Raymond passed away, and Jeremy could tell her mood had gotten much better.
“What does my cold have to do with this?”
“It has a lot to do with it.”
Jeremy couldn’t hold back anymore. He flipped over and pinned her under him. “How about
we-”
Before he could finish, he leaned in to kiss her.
But before he could reach her soft lips, Amelia blocked him with her hand.
“Get off me. You’re crushing me. I can’t breathe!”
“Then I won’t press down so hard. We’re adults. A little cardio would be good for us.”
Then he leaned in closer, trying to move her hands out of the way.
“Cardio my butt! Get off!”
“No! I want partner cardio!”
“No. This workout’s kinda tough. Let me get ready first,” Amelia said, her face turning bright red.
“Then how long do you need to get ready?”
“I don’t know… Just until the time’s right.”
“Isn’t the time right now?”
Before he could finish the last word, he got kicked off the bed and landed on the floor with a muffled groan.
“Oh! Uh… I didn’t mean to do that!”
Amelia just didn’t control her strength well and accidentally kicked him off.
She felt a tiny bit guilty and embarrassed.
Would it hurt the pride of the mighty CEO of Curran Group if she kicked him out of bed like that?
Was he mad?

Turns out … she was overthinking.
Jeremy calmly climbed back onto the bed, wrapped his arms around her waist again, and grinned.
“It’s fine. If hitting means you care, then kicking must be true love.” Then he kissed her cheek.
Then, he tried one more time. “So, can we-
“No. Wait until I’m ready, or until the time’s right.”
Then, Amelia added firmly, “Go back to your own room. Now, or I’ll get mad.”
“Okay, okay. Get some sleep then.” Jeremy obediently got up and left. Before closing the door, he added, “Good night, Amelia.”
As an adult man full of energy, it was normal for him to have those kinds of thoughts and needs.
But he cared way more about Amelia’s feelings than his own needs.
So when she said no, he listened.
Still, he could tell Amelia wasn’t rejecting him or unwilling.
She was just nervous and a little lost.
“When the time’s right … what does that even mean?”
Back in his own room, Jeremy lay in bed thinking about those words.
Amelia had kept emphasizing it—but what exactly did she mean by “the right time”?
Suddenly, Jeremy remembered her birthday was coming up soon.
