The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 715

There had been other signs too. Miguel had a drawer in his study that he never let anyone see. Once, when Amelia was looking for a file, she accidentally opened it and found a handmade braided bracelet inside.

At the time, she had asked if some girl had given it to him. Miguel had hurriedly put it away, his expression oddly unnatural.

Thinking back on it now, the bracelet's colors and design were exactly the same as something Anderson had once posted on social media, saying he'd made it out of boredom.

With all those details strung together, Amelia was convinced. It was probably true.

"Honestly, it's not a big deal. Society is a lot more accepting now. There's nothing wrong with it."

That was Amelia's final conclusion.

She had been shocked at first, but now that the surprise had passed, she found she could accept it easily enough.

Even if Emery found out someday, it probably would not be impossible for her to accept either.

After all, the Nygards had three sons. As for carrying on the family line and inheriting the Nygard empire, that could be left to Marcelo and Maxwell.

Marcelo and Maxwell nodded in agreement. It made perfect sense.

A brother was a brother. Of course they had to support him.

Everything was moving toward a brighter future.

Amelia's belly grew bigger by the day, and before long, she was nearing her due date.

By the time she was six or seven months along, more good news started arriving from the people around her.

First, Nydia safely gave birth to a baby boy.

Then Maxwell and Patience announced their engagement.

Right after that, just as Josie had jokingly predicted, she ended up making a baby too. She was pregnant.

And unlike Amelia, Josie was carrying a little angel. No morning sickness, no nausea, no miserable pregnancy symptoms at all. She ate well, drank well, and bounced around full of energy every day.

Poor Amelia had thought her pregnancy symptoms would end after the first trimester. Instead, they lasted all the way until the seventh month. They nearly wore her out.

Because of that, she and Jeremy postponed their wedding. They planned to make it up later, after the baby was born and she had recovered.

Honestly, Amelia didn't care much whether they had a formal wedding or not. A travel wedding sounded just as nice to her.

Jeremy, of course, respected her wishes completely.

"I really don't get why you're so obsessed with fixing up this nursery and buying all these little princess dresses. What if it's a boy?"

Amelia was genuinely puzzled.

Every day, she watched this man take out those tiny pink clothes, look them over again and again, smiling as he neatly folded them and put them away. Then he would fuss over the crib, then over the pink toys, then over some other part of the room. The whole nursery looked like a pastel princess dream.

He never got tired of it. If anything, he enjoyed it more and more.

They had both decided to keep the baby's sex a surprise, since they liked the mystery and the anticipation. That was why they had insisted from the start that the doctor not tell them.

In truth, Amelia could have figured it out herself just by checking her own pulse.
