The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 598

Chapter 598 Jeremy’s Plans

Jeremy thought about it and nodded. “Yeah, that makes sense. I’ll ask her and see if she wants to come over to my place.”

“What if she says no?” Bridget asked.

“Then I’ll just keep staying at her place.”

There was no way he was going to live apart from her.

“You! You’re driving me crazy! Come home this weekend for lunch!” Bridget said, shaking uncontrollably with anger.

She knew she couldn’t change his mind, so she took a step back. “Bring her with you.”

“Amelia got invited to Jordan Estate this weekend, and I have to work overtime. Maybe next week.”

Cora had called Amelia earlier and talked for a while. She guessed Floyd probably wanted to see her, so Cora invited her over for lunch.

Amelia had already said yes.

“Overtime? Please. I bet you’re only working overtime because she’s not home, right?”

This was driving her crazy!

People always say you lose your sons when they grow up, but now she was losing her grandson, too!

“Fine! Don’t come back then! Hmph!” Bridget slammed the phone down.

Jeremy was baffled.

Was I that obvious?

He really was working overtime because Amelia wasn’t home.

That way, he could get some work done and have more free time to spend with her later.

He didn’t know why his grandma was so mad. At this rate, things might get awkward between her and Amelia again.

Sigh.

Chapter 59

What a headache!

Finished

Jeremy tossed his phone aside and rubbed the bridge of his nose and his temples, frustrated.

He naturally hoped the person he loved would also be loved by his family. He just wanted everyone to get along and be happy.

They were both important to him.

His grandma was his family. Without her, there wouldn’t be his father, and there wouldn’t be him.

But Amelia was also the love of his life. He hoped his family would treat her like one of their own and respect her.

He realized he needed to find a way to fix this.

If things still didn’t work out, he planned to buy a house Amelia liked after they got married and move there with her.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Amelia had been taking it easy and doing nothing for the past few days.

She was going to be busy again starting tomorrow, so she wanted to enjoy one last night of relaxation.

She took out the diary her dad had written before he passed away. It recorded moments of her growing up, and she slowly read through it page by page.

She wasn’t sure if she did it because she missed him or if it was just a habit now.

Either way, whenever she was bored, stressed, or had a lot on her mind, she read his diary.

His handwriting was neat and bold. It was beautiful to look at and usually made her feel better.

Her dad was actually the one who taught her how to write when she was a kid.

But their styles were different because their personalities were different.

People say your handwriting shows who you are, and she thought that was true.

Her dad was a very patient, private man, and you could almost feel that controlled strength in his writing.

Amelia flipped through the pages one by one. Even though she had read them many times, she still felt emotional and sad.

“Sigh…” Amelia let out a soft breath.

other reasons…

For some reason, she felt like her dad’s diary wasn’t just a simple record of her childhood.

She kept feeling like her dad was trying to tell her something through the diary.

She didn’t know if it was because her mentor had mentioned it or if she was just overthinking it.

Either way, she felt like there was some kind of message hidden in the diary.

But after reading it over and over again, all she felt was a mix of sadness and warmth, nothing seemed off.

Still, she wouldn’t give

The more she read, the stronger the strange feeling became.

She tried reading the lines out of order, then reading them backward-anything to find a hidden

Just as she felt like she almost got it…

The phone on the table buzzed loudly, shattering the silence of the room.

Amelia was so focused that the noise made her jump, and the diary slammed shut with a loud thud.
