Luna saw Sophia's red eyes and went over to hug her. "Sophia, I'm looking forward to you becoming a part of our family.

Luna went downstairs and saw Zachary standing by the window. She walked over to him. "Zachary, Sophia is upstairs."

Zachary snapped back to his senses and nodded. "Okay."

"Mom, thank you, and Dad as well."

"Zachary, what are you being so polite for? You're getting married. Of course, your Dad and I are happy for you. If we can help, we will. Besides, we really do like Sophia.

"I'm serious when I say I'll turn you into an eunuch if you dare bully or let Sophia down."

Zachary pulled the corners of his mouth helplessly. "Mom, you're a classy lady. Please don't say such wild things."

Luna raised her fist and snorted at him.

"Dad is waiting for you outside. Go on now." Zachary pushed Luna toward the door and handed her over to Edmund.

"Dad, thank you. Thank you and Mom."

Edmund patted his shoulder. "Thank us for what? You're our son. There's no need to be so polite."

"Honey, let's go. It's time for some alone time. Let this rascal chase after his wife."

Watching his parents leave, Zachary smiled and shook his head, then turned and went back into the villa.

He went upstairs, heading to the innermost room, where Sophia was sitting on the bed, holding a stuffed toy in a daze.

He walked in and casually closed the door behind him.

"Sophia, do you like the gifts my parents prepared for you?"

Sophia came back to her senses, her eyes red. She had managed to hold back earlier in front of Luna, but the moment she saw Zachary, she couldn't hold it in anymore, and the tears fell.

"Zachary, thank you. Thank you to your parents as well. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Holt."

Sophia said three thank-yous in a row, then reached out and hugged him.

"Maybe I can be brave enough to take this step."

Sophia went from choking softly to sobbing aloud.

Zachary held her and gently patted her back. "It's okay. Cry it all out. If you want to cry, just cry."

Sophia buried herself in Zachary's arms and let herself cry freely. At this moment, all the fears she used to have suddenly seemed far less scary.
