The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 734

Zachary chuckled softly behind Sophia. He walked forward and once again took her hand. "Let's go. My parents have already prepared all the engagement gifts. We'll head to Ms. Blair's house next."

"Zachary, are we really doing this so quickly?" Sophia's face was still burning. Her eyes were still red from crying, but she no longer felt any emotional burden.

"Yes. If we don't move fast, I'm worried you'll fall back into your comfort zone."

Zachary spoke calmly. He pulled out his phone and called his parents. "Dad, Mom, Sophia agreed to marry me. We're heading to Ms. Blair's place now."

"Alright, Zachary. Dad and I are ready. We're right outside the house."

She turned to her Edmund. "Darling, I'm about to have a daughter-in-law. Aren't you jealous?" said Luna cheerfully.

Edmund's indulgent voice followed. "Honey, remember what you promised. Even with a daughter-in-law, you have to put me first. You can't forget your darling just because you have a daughter-in-law."

Their lively voices were so loud that Sophia could hear them too.

Zachary gave a faint smile, completely used to it, and hung up. "My dad's very worried my mom will forget him once she has a daughter-in-law, so he keeps reminding her about their promise."

"Zachary, is that really how couples interact?"

"Yes. Natalie's parents are models of love, and so are Marcus' parents.

"You know, Marcus' mother was sick for many years, and his father never left her side, taking care of her the whole time. Later, she was afraid and wanted to divorce him, and he agreed. But now, they're back together.

"Sophia, you see, there are so many successful examples of couples who love each other for a lifetime. You don't have to worry. We'll be one of those successful couples too."

Zachary knew exactly what Sophia was afraid of, so he patiently reassured her repeatedly.

If others could do it, so could they.

Not all fathers and men were like Ivan.

Sophia was slowly beginning to accept it. He wanted to lead her down the path of marriage, make her the rightful Mrs. Holt, and protect and love her openly for a lifetime.

Before, there had been too many restrictions on him because Sky was Sophia's fiancé. All Zachary could do was silently stay by her side as her psychologist.

Now, he finally had the opportunity to love the one woman he cherished. There was no way he would miss it.

"Sophia, don't worry. Leave everything to me. You just need to follow my lead."

"Okay." Sophia took a deep breath. Sooner or later, this day had to come anyway.

Zachary had accompanied her for so many years. She loved and respected him. In that case, they should be together.

The two of them spoke softly as they returned to the front of the Holt family villa. As soon as Luna saw them, she rushed over, holding a bouquet of flowers. She then placed the bouquet in Sophia's arms without giving her a chance to refuse.

"Sophia, take it. It's a gift from your future mother-in-law."

Sophia hugged the bouquet close. There was a small box tucked in amongst the flowers.

"Open it and take a look." Edmund stood beside them, smiling kindly and dotingly. "Take a look at how good my honey's taste is."
