He held her in place, hands firm on her shoulders. “Lilly, why are you running from me?”

“Why are you protecting her so much? Just tell me. Are you still in love with him?”

Just saying Jace’s name made Lucas lose his cool. He couldn’t stand it.

Lilly’s voice was steady. “It doesn’t matter how I feel about him. You’ll never compare to him in my heart.”
