The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 745

“Ella, stop making fun of us,” Joanna laughed.

Jessa stood off to the side, feeling invisible. Moss and Joanna’s affection for Ella was obvious. The three of them fit together so naturally, like a family. Jessa felt like an outsider who had wandered in by mistake.

“Dad, Mom, I’m going upstairs,” Jessa said quietly.

Without waiting for a response, she turned and climbed the stairs alone.

Joanna stepped forward, wanting to follow her. “Jessa!”

Moss held her back. “Let her go. If she wants to be alone, just let her.”

He figured it was better to give Jessa some space. Maybe she needed to cool off before she did something she’d really regret.

Ella sensed the tension and switched gears. “Mr. Wade, the drug you were given wasn’t ordinary. It’s from Castle Rock.”

Moss stared at her, caught off guard. “What? Are you sure it came from Castle Rock?”

“Yes, Mr. Wade. Ms. Johnson was poisoned with something from Castle Rock, too. Whoever did this to Ms. Johnson is definitely someone close to you.”

Moss’s expression darkened as he tried to piece it together. The aphrodisiac had come from Louise. If that was true, the person responsible had to be connected with Louise and Jessa.

He turned to Ella, his voice serious. “Ella, we need to figure out who did this.”

Ella raised her eyebrow, calm and collected. “Calm down. We’re not the ones who need to worry right now. The culprit will make another move soon, and the more she tries, the more likely she is to slip up. We just have to wait and keep our eyes open. When the time comes, we’ll catch her red-handed.”

Moss and Joanna nodded. “Alright, Ella, we’ll follow your lead.”

Ella smiled. “I should go. I’ve been here for a few days already, and Lola’s probably missing me. I want to spend some time with my daughter.”

“Of course, Ella. Let me have the driver take you home,” Joanna offered.

Ella shook her head. “It’s okay, I drove myself. Goodbye.”
