The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 737

“I haven’t even done anything with her, and you’re already crying this much,” Moss said, watching the tears slide down Joanna’s face. “If something really happened between us, would you cry yourself to death?”

Joanna shot back right away. “You’re so full of yourself. I’m not crying over you. Let go of me. I’m shutting the door.”

She wiped her cheeks and reached for the car door, but it wouldn’t budge. Moss caught her wrist, pulled her out of the front seat, and pushed her into the back.

She struggled, trying to break free. “What are you doing? Let me go. I want to get out. Let me out of the car!”

Moss climbed into the back with her, closed the door, and pulled Joanna onto his lap.

“Why are you making such a scene?”

Joanna tried to slide off his lap. “Moss, come on, what are you doing? We’re in a car.”

He leaned down and kissed her. “It’s not like we haven’t done this in a car before. I remember you enjoying it.”

Joanna was stunned into silence. She opened her mouth and bit down on the corner of his lip.

He sucked in a sharp breath, blood trickling from the bite. He caught her face in his hands, his grip gentle but firm. “Joanna, I’ve been drugged. Are you really not going to help me? If you don’t, I might actually die right here.”

Joanna hesitated, her resolve wavering.

He looked at her, eyes full of accusation. “You’re really cold, you know? When you were poisoned, I would’ve traded my life for yours. But now, you won’t even spend one night with me to save mine.”

A pang of guilt shot through her. “That’s not what I meant…”

Moss let go of her and slouched back against the seat, looking completely defeated. “If you’re really that heartless, then just watch me die.”
