The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 714

Louise couldn’t stand Joanna. Every time she thought about her, it felt like Joanna had stolen the life she was meant to have. Moss should have been hers. That spot as Mrs. Wade should have been hers too.

Moss slipped back into the private suite. Jessa looked up at him. “Dad, where did Mom go?”

Moss put on an easy smile. “She had something to take care of, so she left early.”

“What? Mom just left?” Jessa’s lips pushed out in a pout. “Why did she leave all of a sudden? She didn’t even tell me!”

Moss watched her carefully. He hadn’t thought much of it before, but after what Joanna said earlier, he started to wonder about Jessa’s background too. Maybe he should have ordered a DNA test a long time ago.

Still, he kept his face calm. He couldn’t let Jessa see anything was off. If she really was his daughter, there was no way he wanted her to know he’d ever doubted her. And if she wasn’t... well, it was even more important to keep quiet. For now, he just had to act normal.

“Jessa, are you finished? If you are, let’s go home.”

Jessa nodded. She had already gotten what she wanted. Tomorrow, she’d finally be going to Johnson Group.

Her eyes landed on Ella, who had barely said a word since they’d arrived and had just been quietly eating.

“Ella, you done? We’re leaving. Don’t tell me you’re planning to follow us home.”

Ella set her fork down. “Thank you for dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Wade. I’m finished. You all go ahead. I’ll head back on my own.”

Jessa rolled her eyes at her. “Dad, let’s go.”

Moss glanced at Ella. “Alright, Ella, see you.”

“Okay. Bye.”

He and Jessa left. Half an hour later, they were back at the Wade family villa and stepping into the living room.

“Dad, I’m going upstairs,” Jessa said.

“Jessa.” Moss called her name, stopping her.
