The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 678

Jessa dropped onto the sofa and tried to get her thoughts in order. She needed to figure out her next move.

With Mrs. Harmon missing, David had probably pieced it all together by now. He was most likely with Ella, and the two of them were teaming up against her. The idea made Jessa clench her fists. She hated the thought of wasting such a golden opportunity. She needed Ella out of the picture, no matter what.

She pulled out her phone and quickly typed out a message to Ella.

Meanwhile, in the CEO’s office at Harmon Corporation, Ella’s phone buzzed. She glanced down and saw an unknown number. The message read, If you want your daughter to stay alive, go somewhere private and answer my call. If even one other person finds out, your daughter will die on the spot.

Ella’s heart jumped into her throat. The kidnappers had finally reached out.

She’d been afraid they’d stay silent, but once they acted, she believed there would be a slip-up somewhere. The number was clearly fake, run through some virtual network. These people were careful, clever.

David, sitting at his desk, heard the chime and looked up. “Who messaged you?”

No one else can know.

Ella kept her expression neutral. “It’s from Lilly.”

David nodded, accepting her answer.

Just then, Aiden came in and spoke in a low voice. “Sir, our people haven’t found any sign of Miss Lola or your mother yet. But, no news might be good news. The kidnappers are probably laying low, so Miss Lola and your mother are safe for now.”

David agreed. He grabbed a map and pointed. “Keep searching these areas…”

While David and Aiden discussed the plan, Ella quietly slipped out of the office.

She found a quiet spot in the hallway. Her phone rang again. This time it was a call.

She picked up right away. “Hello? Who is this? Do you have my daughter and Mrs. Harmon? Why are you doing this?”

A mechanical, disguised voice answered, “That’s right. Your daughter and Mrs. Harmon are with me.”
