Sarah nodded. “Most ladies who make it big in business are in their forties or fifties. They’ve been through a lot.”
David pressed his lips together. “Isabella’s actually very young.”
Wait, what?
Isabella’s a young woman?
Sarah stared at David. “David, you’ve met Isabella?”
One of the executives perked up. “Mr. Harmon, you’ve seen her? Come on, spill. What’s she like?”
David didn’t show much emotion. “I only saw her from behind, but she’s definitely young.”
Jessa felt a pang of jealousy. When did David meet Isabella? How had that happened? It seemed like all these women just wanted to get close to him.
Suddenly, there was a stir in the crowd. Someone gasped, “Look over there! Who is she? She looks like an angel.”
David glanced up and saw Ella.
Ella had just arrived. She wore a black mermaid gown with thin straps and her hair was swept up in a soft, elegant style. Her shoulders were smooth and her collarbones delicate, the dress hugging her figure and showing off her slim waist and curves. The moment she walked in, everyone took notice.
All eyes turned to her.
“She’s stunning.”
“She looks like she stepped out of a dream. That vibe is just unreal.”
“She’s the most gorgeous woman here, hands down.”
Everyone was talking about Ella. Jessa and Sarah’s smiles faded. Just a minute ago, all attention had been on them. Now Ella had walked in and completely overshadowed them, leaving them feeling invisible.
