Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 479

Chapter 479 You Are Not Being Good

Nina kept her little arms stretched out, insisting on being held. She wanted Lester to take her to buy the toys and snacks.

Even Lester, who was usually good with kids, had no idea what to do.

Nina was being a stubborn little mule, completely fixated on him holding her.

Seeing they had a little time before boarding, Lester took her back and tried to soothe her.

“How about some candy, sweetie?” His go-to method was to stop the tears first.

Nina sat in his lap eating the candy and indeed stopped sobbing. But he couldn’t put her down. She refused to go to anyone else.

Lester tried everything to hand her off to her parents, to William, or to Daniel. Nothing worked. She was quickly becoming just as difficult as Benjamin had been as a kid.

Seeing Nina wouldn’t budge, Amelia stopped worrying about looking bad.

Right in front of Lester, she forcibly took Nina back. Nina wailed as she was carried away, but Amelia didn’t give in.

“Nina, it’s time to go home. Lester is going home too, just a little later,” Amelia said firmly. “Crying won’t help.”

Since they were on a private jet this time, Amelia wasn’t worried about Nina bothering other passengers. Under Amelia’s firm handling, Nina was taken onto the plane.

Watching herself get separated from Lester, Nina cried her little heart out.

Lester, who hadn’t boarded, watched her small figure disappear, along with the tall one beside her…

He stood there watching for a long, long time, even after Benjamin and Nina were out of sight.

Meanwhile, Nina on the plane had a treat in each chubby hand- lollipop in one, a cookie in the other. A tablet playing cartoons was in front of her.

Amelia held her with one arm and used her free hand to give her sips of water from a sippy cup.

She had snacks, a drink, and cartoons. And yet, Nina still let out little hiccupping sobs every so often.

She’d cry, take a bite of cookic, suck on her lollipop, watch the show… and then cry a little more.

Amelia was at her wit’s end. She spoke softly to Benjamin beside her. “Benjamin, why are other people’s babies so well-behaved?” she asked.

Benjamin had heard this from Amelia before. He kept his expression neutral and didn’t answer. It wasn’t a topic he could safely comment on.

Seeing his silence, Amelia just hummed softly to herself.

Why isn’t Nina like other babies? No-why isn’t Nina like I was as a child, always so well-behaved?

Amelia already knew the answer in her heart.

“You should be nicer to Lèster,” Amelia stated, wrapping up her train of thought. “Stop giving him that icy stare all the time.”

‘I don’t,” Benjamin replied this time, defending himself. He felt his expression wasn’t that cold.

They kept their voices low. Nina, who had seemed absorbed in her cartoon, had somehow been listening in.

She lifted her head and asked Amelia unhappily, “Mommy, Nina no good?”

Amelia answered instantly, “Yes, you are not being good.”

Nina paused. “Oh.”

She had just thrown a huge fit and was still sniffling occasionally. Clutching her lollipop, she thought it over. She hadn’t been good.

Knowing she was in the wrong, Nina didn’t argue with Amelia. Her eyes went back to the tablet, but her ittle ears stayed perked up, perfectly capable of eavesdropping while dividing her attention.

The private jet was quite comfortable. Amelia was more experienced with Nina now, and this time Nina’s ears didn’t hurt during takeoff or landing.

The family landed in the afternoon.

The moment they got off the plane, Nina wanted to go to Wilson Villa.

Seeing she wanted to find Jane, Amelia was confused. “What do you need to see your grandma for?”

Nina lifted her little arm. “Me hurt!”

Amelia was even more puzzled. “But you already tattled a week ago. You called your grandma, Uncle Nathan, and Aunt Freya, remember? They all know.”

Amelia reminded Nina that she had already tattled over the phone.

But Nina still insisted on going to Wilson Villa.

Amelia was speechless. A phone call wasn’t enough? She has to deliver the news in person nowy

After grumbling to herself, Amelia still took Nina back to Wilson Villa. They’d been gone a while, and she missed her mom and sister too. And Nathan.

Nathan had taken Barry for tests, but they hadn’t found anything wrong. Yet Barry kept running fevers, and something was clearly off. Amelia wanted to check on him.
