Chapter 478 Kids Never Take Separation Well
“Mommy, me got chute!” Nina insisted. She meant she had a parachute.
She must have seen somewhere that people could jump with a parachute. She tried to copy it with her little umbrella.
Amelia understood what she meant. Her blood pressure spiked, but she held back from yelling and continued the lesson calmly.
“That’s an umbrella, not a parachute. And kids can’t play with parachutes,” she explained. “You can’t ever do that again, understand?”
Amelia taught her seriously. Nina, with tears in her eyes, nodded.
With this new injury, Amelia didn’t dare put her on a plane. Benjamin canceled the flights so Nina could stay a few extra days.
This time, William joined the watch party. Catherine finally allowed him into the estate.
With Amelia, Daniel, and William all keeping an eye on her, Nina managed to stay out of trouble for a few days.
During that time, Nina played the little patient to the hilt. She was extra fussy.
She invited all her little friends over to the estate to play. Seeing that her arm was hurt, the other kids all fussed over her.
Nina was the absolute center of attention. Whatever she said or asked for, adults and kids alike went along with it. Even Amelia indulged her.
Amelia’s leniency wasn’t just because she felt sorry for the little patient. It was because Nina couldn’t move her arm around.
She really couldn’t just let Nina throw herself on the floor and have a tantrum anymore. To help Nina’s arm heal faster, Amelia had to keep her calm and happy.
About a week later, Amelia couldn’t wait to take Nina back to the hospital.
Sure enough, her arm was all better. Nina’s constitution was pretty good. She recovered even faster than the doctor expected.
Her arm was healed and didn’t need the bandage anymore. But Nina refused to let the doctor take it off. She insisted on keeping it wrapped.
Amelia had no choice. She replaced it with a thin, breathy gauze and kept it on.
The next day, Nina, with her arm still gauze-wrapped, was taken to the airport. She was really going home
this time.
Lester was already out of the hospital. Benjamin, Amelia, William, and Daniel were all going back together.

Chapter 478 Kids Never Take Separation Well
Finished
Lester wasn’t returning yet. He had a mountain of things to handle. Inheriting Philip’s estate alone would keep him busy for a while.
Even though he wasn’t going back, Lester came to see them off.
Since the return date was set in advance, they were taking the family’s private jet. Nina didn’t care if the plane was private or not. She covered her ears, remembering that flying made them hurt.
Before boarding, Benjamin carried her. Seeing Lester wasn’t moving, she waved her little hand at him.
“Un-coo Sam, hurry!” she urged, wanting Lester to walk faster.
But Lester stayed right where he was. Nina started to get anxious. She squirmed in Benjamin’s arms, wanting down.
“Daddy, wait Un-coo Sam,” she pleaded. “Un-coo Sam no coming.”
Hearing that Lester wasn’t coming, Benjamin didn’t look back. He just tightened his grip, holding the wriggling Nina steady.
‘He’s not coming home with us. Be good now,” Benjamin said.
The moment he said that, Nina went into full-blown meltdown mode.
‘No!” she cried, loudly refusing.
She arched her back, her little face turning red with frustration. “Un-coo Sam go! We go home!”
After demanding they all go home together, she started shouting “Un-coo Sam!” at the top of her lungs.
After two or three shouts with no Lester appearing, she squeezed her eyes shut and started wailing.
Waaah! Want Un-coo Sam! Un-coo Sam hold!”
Nina cried for Lester to hold her, sobbing and struggling even harder. She didn’t want Benjamin to hold
her anymore.
Benjamin was strong enough to hold her by force. But she was making a huge scene, crying pitifully.
Lester, standing behind them, was already regretting coming to see them off. He knew kids could be like
this.
They aren’t like adults who can bear such things. Kids never take separation well.
Lester had really wanted to see Benjamin and Nina off. So, even though he’d guessed Nina might act up. he came anyway.
Lester didn’t stay put. He walked quickly over to Nina. “Alright, sweetie, don’t cry,” he said.
