Man With Super Medical Skill novel Chapter 3748

The envoy had already spread Matthew's order across the Medusa Gang headquarters. Sogan now stood as captain in Serpent's place, and the news carried weight through every corner of the compound.

When Matthew entered the floor, no one dared to mock him. They kept their eyes low, their posture stiff, their manners polished with false respect.

"Captain Sogan, congratulations on your new post. The incident earlier was caused by one of my reckless men. I have already punished him harshly. I trust you will not dwell on it."

The speaker was Lauro, the chief commander of the first-floor laboratory.

Matthew's gaze flicked to the badge on Lauro's chest. His tone was cold. "Commander Lauro, you need to train your men properly. If something like that happens again, it will not be as light as a hundred slaps."

"Yes, of course," Lauro replied quickly. "From now on, I will rely on your guidance in keeping them in line. May I ask what brings you to my floor today?"

"I heard a new batch was delivered. I came to select a few for the envoy. She may find some of them useful."

"In that case, Captain Sogan, please step into the car."

Walking was possible, but it would take half an hour at the very least. The sheer size of each level was staggering.

To save time, every floor kept a fleet of small shuttles to transport both people and supplies.

Lauro took the driver's seat himself. He guided Matthew through the long corridors until the car rolled to a stop before the sorting sector.

When the doors opened, the sight inside stabbed into Matthew's heart like a spear.

The hall stretched like a factory without end. Row after row of cages filled the space until the distance blurred into shadow. The layout was tight and unbroken, leaving not a sliver of room.

Each cage held a living soul. Men, women, the elderly, the young, even children. It made no difference if they were healthy, broken, or crippled.

The Medusa Gang members had only one role. They sorted each new captive by sex, by age, by strength, and cast aside those diseased or those judged useless.

Matthew walked slowly past the cages. Some of the captives lay unconscious. Others stared at him with eyes that trembled in terror. Not one voice rose.

He reached out with his inner energy, and the truth struck him. Every prisoner had been injected with sedatives. Their silence was forced.

"These are poor quality," Matthew said with an icy calm. "Not one of them suits the envoy."

"Good materials have been scarce," Lauro answered. "The envoy has already ordered the captains to change their hunting grounds."
