I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 751

I knew Steven was trying to protect me, but I didn't want to see him treat Rachel like that.

“Steven, let go of her!” I demanded coldly.

Steven turned to me. “She was about to hit you, and you're still going to indulge her?”

“This is my business, stay out of it. Let her go, now!” I repeated, my tone icy.

With a dark expression, Steven reluctantly shoved her away. Rachel stumbled back, nearly falling before Mrs. Spencer caught her.

The café staff, seeing the commotion, hurried over to help, but Gordon stopped them. “It's nothing, just a heated discussion. You can go back to your work.”

The waiters retreated to their posts but kept a watchful eye on us, ready to intervene at a moment's notice.

Rachel's eyes were red and watery—whether from pain or anger, I couldn't tell. I looked at her swollen wrist and trembling arm, feeling a pang of guilt.

Steven stepped in front of me, his tall frame completely shielding me from view.

“Rachel, if you have a problem, take it up with me. Don't bother Zephyra. She's kind enough to tolerate you again and again, but I'm not.”

Standing behind Steven, I couldn't see his expression, but his tone told me he was furious. If Rachel hadn't been a woman, he probably would have hit her.

Rachel looked at Mrs. Spencer. “You see? Zephyra isn't the person we used to know. She's in league with Steven now, and she doesn't care about anything Horace has done for her.”

Mrs. Spencer took Rachel's hand. “Rachel, that's enough. Let's go home.”

Rachel tried to say more, but Mrs. Spencer shot her a look, cutting her off.
