Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 23

The moment he stepped into the elevator, the air seemed to drop to a freezing temperature.

When he wasn’t looking at you, he had the serene, ascetic air of a scholar, but when he did, he was dangerously captivating. “Report.”

The president wiped sweat from his brow. “Mr. Turner, please rest assured. Our hospital’s Dr. Gonzalez is an expert in this field. With her treating Mr. Martinez, there will be no problems!”

Who else but Warner, the head of the Turner family, could command such fear from so many powerful figures?

Warner toyed with the bracelet on his wrist, his eyelids lifting slightly. “That’s not what I heard.”

“Mr. Turner, I… we really aren’t lying to you.” The vice president was stammering. “We wouldn’t dare neglect Mr. Martinez’s condition. He’s from the Martinez family!”

Warner said nothing more, simply standing tall and silent as the elevator ascended to the sixth floor.

The more silent he was, the more crushing his presence became.

The president’s knees were already starting to feel weak.

When the elevator finally arrived, Mr. Turner motioned for them to exit first!

They understood he didn’t want to reveal his identity.

But could someone please tell them why Dr. Gonzalez was standing in the observation room?

Warner also stopped, his gaze falling on the attending physician inside the ER who was now removing the needles. His voice was icy. “I was told Dr. Gonzalez was in charge. Who is that?”

The person by the bedside wore a surgical mask and cap. She removed the needles with swift, precise movements, her technique seasoned and professional. But from the eyes that were visible, it was easy to tell she was young.

“She… she…” The vice president was sweating profusely, nearly scared out of his wits and unable to form a coherent explanation.

The president completely lost his composure, grabbing Mrs. Gonzalez Sr. who was standing in the observation room. His voice trembled. “Dr. Gonzalez, why aren’t you in the emergency room? Why is some young girl treating the patient?”

Seeing the president, Mrs. Gonzalez Sr.’s face first lit up with pleasure, then she said, “I was just about to report this to you. Dr. Lopez has been incredibly reckless. The patient’s family hasn’t even signed the consent forms, and he dared to bring in an amateur to treat someone!”

At this point, the president didn’t want to hear any of it. Knowing Mr. Turner was watching, he couldn’t help but roar, “I’m asking you why you aren’t in there!”
