The call was from her school's homeroom teacher, who sounded aggressive and clearly had ill intentions.
"Rosalind, I'm ordering you to come to the school right now! Immediately!" Her voice was loud, as if she was furious. "Your parents told me they're no longer responsible for you, that your actions are none of their business, and they have no obligation to look after you. Is that true?"
Rosalind replied nonchalantly, "Yes."
"Yes?! Then why didn't you tell me!" Ms. Lee sneered. "You got into our vocational school because of your father's connections. Otherwise, with your rudimentary medical knowledge, we never would have accepted you."
Rosalind laughed. "Rudimentary medical knowledge?"
"What? Am I wrong? Don't forget your disgraceful grades!" Ms. Lee shouted impatiently. "And don't you dare give me attitude. Your grandmother is already here. I'll talk to her first. How we deal with you will depend on your guardian's attitude!"
Click! She hung up forcefully.
Rosalind's eyes narrowed, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop to freezing.
The one thing she detested most was being threatened with her grandmother.
Rosalind crushed the teacup in her hand, then gently blew the fragments from her palm.
In that moment, it was as if her true self had emerged.
Her face was stunningly beautiful, a reflection of her own unfathomable depths.
In the past, many prominent families had gone to great lengths just to secure her services.
Now, she had to endure someone else's attitude just to attend school.
How things have changed...
