“My surname is Woods,” Zachary said proudly, as if announcing his family name granted him unrestricted access anywhere.
The staff member frowned. “I’m sorry, sir. The Guild of Pax is hosting a very important guest today, and no doctors have been invited. Please escort your companion out.”
Zachary had never been so humiliated. “I…”
The staff member seemed to receive a command, pressing his earpiece. “Yes, I’m at the entrance. Mr. Turner has arrived? Understood, I’m on my way immediately!”
Mr. Turner? Yolanda’s eyes lit up. The man she had missed seeing last time—could she finally meet him now?
Zachary was still fuming and didn't notice the change in Yolanda’s expression.
It was only when Yolanda spoke softly, “Zach, let’s not take any more pictures. Let’s just walk ahead.”
Zachary’s mood improved slightly. “Alright.”
Yolanda’s voice was low. “Zach, don’t mind them. They’re just receptionists, service staff.”
“I know. Let’s go.” Zachary was still marveling at how understanding Yolanda was.
He had no idea that Yolanda’s thoughts had already flown to the grand hall not far away.
A fleet of million-dollar Mercedes led the way, followed by a luxurious, pure black, limited-edition Maybach that glided to a stop.
The Turner family emblem was instantly recognizable to everyone in the business world.
In an instant, everyone stood straighter, waiting for the Maybach to come to a complete halt.
A sharply dressed senior executive from the Guild of Pax hurried forward, bowing respectfully as he opened the car door. His face was wreathed in an almost reverent smile. “Mr. Turner.”
Through the gap of the opening door, Yolanda caught a glimpse of the man inside—a powerful, regal figure.
