Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 116

“This alley is so run-down and narrow. It’s disgustingly poor!”

The speaker was Fiona Young, whom Rosalind had seen at the hotel.

She was supporting a delicate-looking young woman, her lips curled in a sneer. “Miss, why did you have to come in person? What kind of renowned doctor could possibly come from a place like this?!”

“Fiona, that’s enough,” the young woman said. She wore a long, fishtail-style dress, and her high heels were ill-suited for the stone-paved path. “Just consider it a favor to Mr. Lee.”

Fiona sighed. “Miss, you’re the adopted daughter of the Martinez family. The shares of the Martinez Corporation will be yours someday. Why do you need to do a favor for a mere manager?”

“Fiona,” the young woman chided, her brow furrowing slightly. “I still have my brothers in the family. The company should be theirs.”

Fiona realized she had overstepped, glancing at the bodyguards trailing behind them. “Yes, yes, of course. Listen to me running my mouth!”

Fiona lightly slapped her own cheek.

The young woman held her skirt with one hand and dabbed at the sweat on her brow with a wet wipe. “Go find someone and ask where this female doctor lives.”

“Right away.” Fiona rounded the corner and was about to knock on the neighboring door when she saw Rosalind standing there. Her face was stunningly beautiful, and she held a tripod in her hand, her gaze casual and detached as she looked at them.

No matter how many times she saw her, Fiona just couldn’t bring herself to like this girl.

It was as if anyone who stood before her could be seen right through. So unsettling!

The young woman also saw Rosalind and paused for a moment before walking over.

“Rosalind, are… are they looking for you?” Mrs. Zade, holding a grocery basket, was dumbfounded. “Look at all her jewelry. It must have cost a fortune. She’s sparkling from head to toe.”

Rosalind smiled faintly without a word, continuing to pack her equipment.

The young woman drew closer, a subtle fragrance wafting from her. “You should remember me, right?”

The bodyguards barely even saw it happen.

A figure suddenly appeared before them. He wasn’t large, still a boy, dressed in an apothecary’s apprentice uniform with a savory pastry in his mouth. He stared at them intently.

Though the boy had a blank, almost cherubic expression, his eyes were so fierce they reminded them of a wild beast they had once encountered in the mountains.

The bodyguards instinctively halted.

Only Fiona kept walking forward. “What’s the meaning of this? Our Miss came all the way here to give you gifts, and you’re still playing hard to get?”

Her face was full of contempt; this was clearly not an apology.

Galeno’s eyes narrowed as he clenched his fist. He glanced at Rosalind, and seeing no objection, he grabbed Fiona by the collar with one hand and lifted her clean off the ground!
