In that instant, Rosalind acted, immediately blurring the girl's video feed.
Her clear voice came through the stream. “I hope everyone can respect others’ privacy, especially a child’s.”
[Chloe's Mom: Don't worry. We won't take screenshots.]
[DanceLover: Right, please find out what happened to that child!]
Everyone had a terrible feeling about this.
Rosalind, however, didn’t continue questioning the girl publicly. She looked at the chat and said, “I will contact this patient privately. Please wait a moment.”
To protect the patient’s privacy, Rosalind muted her microphone.
But even so, the number of viewers in the stream continued to surge wildly.
It jumped from ten or twenty thousand to fifty or sixty thousand, the numbers climbing in a red streak.
There was no sound from the stream, but despite the silence, no one left.
Rosalind switched to private messages and contacted the girl. “Sweetie, when did it start hurting? Do you remember what happened right before the pain started?”
The girl seemed to be trying to remember. “Last night, uncle bought me a toy to help me go to sleep. Then… uncle said we were going to play a game and that I shouldn’t tell Mommy. I was a good girl, but the game wasn’t fun at all. After we finished playing, it started to hurt.”
Rosalind observed the girl’s expression, her gaze deepening. “Is your mommy next to you?”
The girl nodded. “Yes.”
Rosalind smiled to soothe her. “What’s your name, sweetie? Can you tell me?”
The girl beamed. “My name is Helen.”
At this, Rosalind shifted her camera, revealing her own face. “Helen, that’s a name full of love.”
“You…” A woman in her thirties appeared on the other side of the video. “Helen, what is this?”
Rosalind introduced herself. “I’m a medical streamer.”
Medical? Streamer?
The woman was still confused. “I’m sorry, my daughter must have pressed something by accident.”
Rosalind’s tone was professional. “She did indeed join my stream by accident, but I’m very glad she did. There’s something I think you, as her mother, ought to know.”
The woman looked at her daughter, who was hiding in her arms and avoiding her gaze, then back at the incredibly beautiful face on the screen. “What is it?”
Rosalind didn’t answer her directly. Instead, she looked at the girl. “Helen, if you don’t tell your mommy now, when she finds out later, she will regret not discovering it sooner. She might even blame herself. Until you’re a grown-up, some things need to be faced together with your mommy.”
Hearing this, the woman’s expression changed drastically. She grabbed the phone. “What is going on?! Tell me clearly!”
