From Ashes of Scandals to His Embrace novel Chapter 267

Edna glanced over at her granddaughter and spoke up.

“You’re about Laurinda’s age, aren’t you? Why not go walk around with them for a bit?”

Laurinda stopped when she heard Edna, turning back to Cathleen with a warm smile and reaching out her hand.

“Want to come with us?”

Cathleen was caught off guard. She hadn’t expected Laurinda to invite her so directly.

While she hesitated, Laurinda didn’t let her off the hook.

“Irvin and I are classmates. I’ve heard about you. Come on, let’s go together.”

“You know Irvin?”

“Of course. We can talk while we walk.” Laurinda raised her eyebrows just a little, her confidence and lively energy putting Cathleen at ease.

“Alright.”

Cathleen took Laurinda’s hand. As she did, the bracelet on Laurinda’s wrist slipped into view. The group nearby suddenly went quiet, their eyes all drawn to the bracelet. First there was shock, then everyone glanced at Tanya in surprise.

Tanya sat there, calm as ever, her expression unchanged. She was the one who had given away the bracelet. If anyone had a problem, they could talk to her about it.

Meanwhile, LenLeal was chatting with guests at the party when he heard that Tanya had given away the family’s heirloom jade bracelet to some young girl. He barely reacted. It wasn’t that he didn’t care, he just didn’t buy it. He was sure Tanya wouldn’t be foolish enough to give up the Lane family’s legacy to Adolphus. Adolphus hadn’t really accomplished anything yet. Why would he be qualified to take over the family?

Locke heard the news and looked at his wife, a satisfied smile appearing on his face. Maybe Adolphus had finally grown up and was willing to accept his place in the family.

Looking up, Locke spotted Adolphus coming around the corner. He waved him over.
