Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 525

Debbie was still fuming.

"You think I don't know if I'm tired? Don't try to pull that nonsense on me. You said you'd give me a five-hundred-million-dollar line of credit. How much have I used? And you're already cutting me off?

I wasn't born yesterday. I know exactly how you people operate. Five hundred million, sure. You were just testing me to see what I'm really made of, weren't you?

Well, let me tell you something. My son is the CEO of a major corporation, my daughter-in-law is a top player in her field, and I've got one of the oldest, richest families in the country behind me. I can move hundreds of billions without breaking a sweat. And you're testing me over a measly five-hundred-million-dollar credit line? Ugh, I'm done with this place."

Debbie stood up to leave. Hearing her tirade, the casino staff's eyes widened.

Although they'd never heard of a figure like Debbie in Northwyn, the ease with which she could conjure up vast sums of money, even if she was lying, suggested there was some truth to her words.

At the very least, she had to have powerful people in her corner.

A mere five hundred million probably was nothing to her.

Of course, gambling wasn't exactly a respectable pastime, so her family likely didn't approve.

That would explain why she had to lie to them to get the money.

But she was an incredible liar, doing so without batting an eye. It was obvious she'd done this plenty of times before.

And seeing how she threw money around at the tables without a care in the world, they were inclined to believe her.

Most importantly, Debbie still owed them over a hundred million. If she really walked out, who knew when they'd ever see that money?
