Whenever Sebastian heard that Bella had requested time off, his face would darken.
Hannah saw his expression and quickly made her escape.
After leaving the office, she muttered to herself, "What's wrong with Mr. Blake? So petty. They're about to get married, so what if his fiancée takes a little time for herself? She's busy with wedding preparations, isn't she? What a typical capitalist, working even his own fiancée to the bone."
Sebastian, of course, couldn't hear her muttering. He just continued to scowl, worried that Bella taking too much time off would delay the project's progress.
Hannah sent Bella a message, asking her to come back as soon as she was finished with her business.
When Bella arrived at the hotel, she found that Debbie had taken the time to dress up and compose herself.
After all, this was the woman who had once set a trap for Old Mr. Blake; she was experienced in these matters.
So, even though she was incredibly nervous at such a critical moment, she managed to appear perfectly calm and collected on the surface.
Most importantly, she needed Bella to trust her.
Only with Bella's trust could she get more money.
So, when Bella arrived, she saw Debbie sitting there, sipping tea.
Bella stared, thinking she must have misjudged the situation.
After all, the voice she'd heard over the phone had been laced with anxiety and panic.
Why was Debbie so composed now that she was here?
"What's wrong, ma'am? You sounded so urgent."
Debbie quickly poured her a cup of tea. "Bella, I didn't expect you to get here so fast. You're such a dear. I knew I could count on you."
"I thought something terrible had happened to you, so I rushed right over."
