Colin steered the conversation back on track, trying to save his brother from further embarrassment.

“Speaking of weddings, we’ll have one to celebrate soon enough. Bella and Sebastian’s! I’ll be sure to have a few extra drinks for that one.”

Bella was so happy these days that any mention of her and Sebastian’s wedding immediately captured her attention.

“Oh, Colin, you’re teasing me again.”

Martin, beaming, had a couple more drinks. “It feels like one good thing after another lately. It’s so nice to finally have some peace in this house.”

With that, he wrapped an arm around Sabrina and, when he thought the kids weren’t looking, gave her a quick kiss.

She was happy too, though the situation with the old Blakes was the one thing that still bothered her. They refused to accept her precious daughter. But Sabrina wasn’t too worried. She had already started making plans. She had high hopes for Debbie, who was certainly no pushover. If used correctly, Debbie could help her daughter take control of the Blake family sooner rather than later.
